Overnight Oats!

Here is one of the easiest ways to meal-prep in advance, with some simple, healthy, & wholesome oats!

Overnight Oats: Focus For the Morning!

This recipe helps to proactively prepare an easy breakfast (most important meal, we need to feed & nourish our bodies & our minds in order to tackle the rest of the day)!

This can be prepared in a 4 day meal-prep on a Sunday, which assures you have Breakfast taken care of throughout the work week!

*This recipe will be for 4 servings, just to make the math easier

*This recipe is for using frozen fruit, which is more accessible/easier to have on hand, so the added liquid ingredients (ie: milk or dairy alternative) amount is adjusted to compensate for the natural water amount of frozen fruit.

Equipment:

  • 4 Glass Mason jars (somewhere in the 10 oz-12 oz size makes the most sense; slightly larger is fine, too!)

  • Measuring cups

  • Measuring spoons

  • Ingredients: (divided between the 4 Mason jars)

  • 2 cups Rolled Oats

  • ~2 cups Milk (or Non-dairy Alternative)*

  • 2-4 TBSP Sugar/Alternative Sweetener

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

  • ½ cup Yogurt (or Non-dairy alternative)

  • 2 cups Frozen Fruit

Instructions:

  1. Place ½ cup of rolled oats in each jar

  2. Add ⅛ cup of yogurt (or non-dairy yogurt alternative) to each jar, atop the oats.

  3. Add “A little over ⅓ cup” of milk (or non-dairy milk alternative) to each jar *(see note below re: using frozen vs fresh fruit, as it affects how much milk to use).

  4. Add ¼ tsp salt, and add ¼ tsp vanilla extract to each jar.

  5. Add 0.5-1 TBSP of sugar (depending on taste) -OR- for lower sugar/glycemic index overall, add 1 TBSP of Brown Swerve (erythritol) or other equivalent sugar/sweetener to each jar.

  6. Top each jar with approx 1/2c of frozen fruit (or as noted below, fresh fruit can be used but you need slightly more milk/alternative if using fresh fruit- see below)*

  7. Throw in any spices of choice (ie: cinnamon, etc) to each jar (Optional, & Highly Customizable)

  8. Put the lids on each jar/or cover each jar, and place in the fridge for at least ~6 hours (Overnight).

  9. Can serve/eat your overnight oats the next morning!

*If using fresh fruit instead of frozen fruit, you can use the full amount of 2 cups (= ½ cup milk per Mason jar), but if using frozen fruit, instead of ½ cup, you use *A little just over ⅓ cup*!)
